Meet Dr. Cohen, Rochester Dentist

Dr. Allison Manly Cohen was raised in Fairport, NY. She attended the University of Rochester where she graduated with her Bachelor of Sciences in Biology (concentration in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology) and minored in American Sign Language. Dr. Cohen attended dental school at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors (Cum Laude). Dr. Cohen completed her General Practice Residency at St. Joseph’s Health in Syracuse, NY.

Dr. Cohen believes strongly in lifelong learning and never passes up an opportunity to learn a new skill to better help her patients. Dr. Cohen is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, the highest level of training in dental treatments for sleep-related breathing disorders, and lectures to local dentists on the topic. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Monroe County Dental Association, Seventh District Dental Society, and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. Dr. Cohen is an active participant in local study clubs such as the Rochester Women Dental Study Club and Brodine Prosthodontics Study Club.

Dr. Cohen enjoys treating patients of all ages and backgrounds, volunteering her time routinely to help patients who cannot afford dental care. She enjoys all disciplines of dentistry, including oral surgery, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. In addition to her practice here at Silver Maple, Dr. Cohen serves as the staff dentist in a local nursing home.

In her spare time, Dr. Cohen enjoys cooking, baking, gardening, and traveling. She lives in the Browncroft area of Rochester with her husband, Michael, a local neurologist/sleep medicine specialist. They have three rescue animals – a bulldog/pug mix and two cats.
